High in the mountains, switchback roads, beautiful view.  This is Selim Pass.

At this point in the mountains, we came upon an old "barn", which was used to house humans and animals crossing countries to trade goods.    The roads from different countries crossed at this point.  It's called the Silk Road.  Some of the explanation below.

Along Lake Sevan, on our way to Vardenis where Evelyn lives, you would see many men along the road holding their arms out like this man....it means they have fish to sell.  Neat way to let you know they have fish!

Lake Sevan, the highest elevation lake in the world.

More cows on the road!
More lavash making;  a lady saw us walking along, and invited us into their bakery.  They were there 8 to ten hours a day.

This lavash bakery is more "modern" than the one shown previously.  The flat thing on the right of the lady (near her head in the back) spreading out the dough is an "oven" which passes over the dough to bake it.

A scene from our hotel.  This hotel was very nice, good beds even (we slept in a lot of hard beds, ow, our aching backs).  They even had a heated drying rack in the bathroom to dry anything you might like to wash on your travels.  The Armenians could use a little PR, they are not very welcoming and smiling when you go to their businesses. (Yeghegnadzor)

We were high in the snowbelt coming thru the mtns.

This summer, two teams of six Peace Corps volunteers will walk Armenia from border to border, for a distance of 300 kilometers per team.  Half of the six will start from the north, the other half will start from the south.  They will meet in "Yeg" at half way.  During the course of their hike, they will hold classes on fitness, health, hygiene, environmental helps, etc. in different towns.
