After the short ceremony, many wives and children ran to hug their husband and father. (or wife). It was so touching to see the many tears and hugs...there was one father that knelt and hugged his little boy. Very moving, even for us that didn't have anyone special in the nat'l guard.
125 local michigan nat'l guard welcome home ceremony at the calumet gym. i have never seen the gym so packed. everyone was given an american flag to wave, some had signs...the welcome clapping was tremendous and touching.

there were police, ambulances, fire departments from all the surrounding areas with the lights flashing and sirens blaring. People lined the highway and calumet streets to welcome the men home.

jake pieti's trophy buck

jake pieti shot this buck near his home on oikarianen rd back of boston location with a brand new 20 gauge shotgun and a steady aim. i suppose the shotgun was a single shot because of the careful aim to plug him with only one shot.
